ಮಂಗಳೂರು, ಮೇ 29 : ಜೂನ್ 1 ರಿಂದ ದೇಶದಾದ್ಯಂತ 200 ರೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವುದು ಎಂದು ರೈಲ್ವೆ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ನೈರುತ್ಯ ರೈಲ್ವೇ 16 ರೈಲು ಒಡಾಟ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿ ಟ್ರೈನ್ ಬುಕ್ಕಿಂಗ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಆದರೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮಧ್ಯ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಓಡಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಕಡೆ ಪಕ್ಷ 3 ರಿಂದ 4 ರೈಲು ಓಡಿಸಲು ಯಾಕೆ ಸಾದ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುದು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ರೈಲನ್ನು ಆಯ್ದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಜನರ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ. ರೈಲು ಆರ್ಥಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕೈಗೆಟುವ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸಂಸದರ ತನಕ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಹವಾಲು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೂ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಮಂಗಳೂರಿನ ನಡುವೆ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭವಾಗುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪ ಕಂಡುಬರುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ.
ಬಸ್ಸುಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಲಿಸಿದರೆ ರೈಲು ಸಂಚಾರ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತ. ಆದರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ರೈಲು ಶುರುವಾಗುವ ಲಕ್ಷಣ ಕಾಣುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಂಗಳೂರು-ಪುತ್ತೂರು, ಮಂಗಳೂರು-ಮೂಕಾಂಬಿಕ ಪ್ಯಾಸೆಂಜರ್ ರೈಲು ಓಡಿಸಲು ಎನು ಅಡ್ಡಿ? ಎಂದು ರೈಲು ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
