Mysterious people: ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಜನರು ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಂತರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕೆಲವೇ ಕೆಲವು ಜನರು ಹುಟ್ಟು ಕುರುಡರು, ಕಿವುಡರು, ಅಂಗವೈಗಲ್ಯತೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಜನರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕುರುಡ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಪಾಡು ತುಂಬಾ ಕಷ್ಟ. ಆತನ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಜಗತ್ತು ಕತ್ತಲಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಇಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಂದ ಹಿಡಿದು ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ ತನಕ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಕುರುಡರು (Mysterious people).

ಆದರೆ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಈ ಬುಡಕಟ್ಟು ಜನಾಂಗದ ಕುರುಡುತನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಬೇರೆಯೇ ಇದೆ. ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲ, ಗಿಡ-ಮರ, ಪ್ರಾಣಿ-ಪಕ್ಷಿ, ನೊಣ, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಇರುವುದು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ. ಅಂತೆಯೇ ಈ ಹಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಶೇಷ ಜಾತಿಯ ವಿಷಕಾರಿ ನೊಣಗಳು ಇವೆ. ಈ ವಿಷಕಾರಿ ನೊಣದ ಕಡಿತದಿಂದಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಜನರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು ಕುರುಡರಾಗುತ್ತಾರೆ ಎಂದು ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
