ಭಾರತದ ವಿವಿಧ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋವಿಡ್19 ಲಾಕ್‌ಡೌನ್‌ನಿಂದಾಗಿ ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ತಮ್ಮ ಊರುಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಲು ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಥವಾ ವಾಹನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತೆರಳುವಾಗ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ ರಸ್ತೆಅಪಘಾತ, ರೈಲುಅಪಘಾತ ಹೀಗೆ ಬರೋಬ್ಬರಿ 116 ಮಂದಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರೆ, 150 ಮಂದಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಮೇ 1 ರಿಂದ 16ರವರೆಗೆ ‘ಶ್ರಮಿಕ ರೈಲು’ ಆರಂಭಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ಈ ಘಟನೆಗಳು ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರುವುದು ವಿಶೇಷ.
ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜಸ್ಥಾನ ಜಾರ್ಖಂಡ್, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳ, ಬಿಹಾರ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ತಮ್ಮ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಿಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು.
ಇಂತಹ ಅಪಘಾತಗಳು ವರದಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಗೃಹ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಅಜಯ್ ಭಲ್ಲಾ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರ ಬರೆದು, ಯಾವುದೇ ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ ಅದು ಆಯಾ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ರೈಲು ಹಳಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಡೆಯುವುದು, ಮಲಗುವುದು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದರೆ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆಯಾ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಗಳು ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮೂವರು ಖಾಸಗಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮೇ 1 ರಿಂದ ಮೇ 16ರವರೆಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದ 27 ರಸ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತು ರೈಲು ಅಪಘಾತದಲ್ಲಿ 116 ಮಂದಿ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟು 159 ಮಂದಿ ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮೇ 16 ರಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ವಲಸೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗೃಹ ಸಚಿವಾಲಯ ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 350 ವಿಶೇಷ ರೈಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 3.5 ಲಕ್ಷ ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರನ್ನು ಈವರೆಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ವಲಸೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗಾಗಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ರೈಲುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
