DMK’s Maran brings North- South into NEET UG-2024 controversy: In North India, students copy…!

NEET 2024 DMK leader Dayanidhi Maran comments after the Centre told the Supreme Court that it will cancel the grace marks of 1563 students who were awarded extra marks for the time lost.

Mr Maran also mentioned that the NEET-related suicides that have taken place in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu as well. DMKs sitting Lok Sabha MP from Chennai on Thursday is furious about the ongoing NEET 2014 controversy. Meanwhile Dayanidhi Maran brought a North vs South twist to the whole neet scam. He said, in southern states, students cannot even carry their belongings inside the exam hall. But it’s not the case with North states, he added.

He, had added additional inputs on how things went on in the northern part of the country. “In North India, students are helped by parents to copy. The students have naturally getting higher marks. We are honest, but today, NEET has become a national issue. People across the country are speaking against NEET now.

Mr. Dayanidhi Maran also mentioned the fact that NEET-related suicides have taken place in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. “Young students who specifically come for NEET, die by suicide because of this exam. What the BJP government did to resolve this problem? They are putting springs in ceiling fans to stop student suicides – angry DMK leader commented.

According to Mr.Maran, Northy NEET students were allegedly given grace marks as the students could not finish the paper in time. Maran’s comment came after the Center government told the Supreme Court that it will cancel the scores awarded to 1,563 students who were awarded grace marks in the NEET exams.

However, students who do not opt for the re-test will be based on the original exam conducted on May 5. NTA told that re-test is expected to occur on June 23, with results likely likely to be out before June 30. The Counselling sessions are expected to commence on July 6 following the outcome of the re-test. However there are more than 3 pleas in supreme court are pending for enquiry, which are filed to cancel the NEET 2004 and reconduct the same.
