ವಯಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ವಿಮೆಯ ಪ್ರೀಮಿಯಂ ಹೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತದೆ. 65 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ನಂತರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಮೆ ಇರೋದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬುವುದು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವ ವಿಷಯ. ಆದರೆ ಖುಷಿಯ ವಿಷಯವೇನೆಂದರೆ 65 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನ ನಂತರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಿಮೆ ಅನ್ವಯ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋದು ರದ್ದುಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿದೆ. ಇನ್ಮೇಲೆ ಇವರು ಕೂಡಾ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ಇನ್ಮುಂದೆ ಭಾರತೀಯ ವಿಮಾ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರಿ (IRDAI) ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಮಾ ಪಾಲಿಸಿಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಗರಿಷ್ಠ ಪ್ರವೇಶ ವಯಸ್ಸನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿದೆ.
IRDAI ನ ಸಲಹೆಗಳು ವಿಮಾ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ರೀತಿ ಇದೆ. ವಿಮಾ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು 5 ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘಾವಧಿಯ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಪಾಲಿಸಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಬಹುದು. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವಿಮೆ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ವಿಮಾ ಕಂಪನಿಗಳು ಮೂರು ವರ್ಷಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಪಾಲಿಸಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡಬಹುದು.
ಜೀವ ವಿಮಾ ಲಾಭ ಆಧರಿತ ಪಾಲಿಸಿಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು IRDAI ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆಯ ವೆಚ್ಚಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ನಷ್ಟ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಆಧಾರಿತ ನೀತಿಗಳು ಹೊರಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ವಿಮಾ ಪಾಲಿಸಿ ನವೀಕರಣದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಮಾ ಮೊತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದಾರರ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು. ಬಹು ಕ್ಲೇಮ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಲು ಪಾಲಿಸಿದಾರರಿಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂದು IRDAI ಸೂಚಿಸಿದೆ.
